Throughout November, Cushing students have been hard at work coordinating our 8th annual community food drive. Spearheaded by our Director of Student Activities Donny Connors, and in concert with a local Girl Scout troop, students prepared and delivered donation bags to 650 homes in Ashburnham. This past weekend, students collected these community donations, sorting and processing more than 2,800 food items, enough to help stock Ashburnham's pantries for nearly three months!
One of the pillars of our Portrait of a Graduate is the Community Journey. At Cushing, we learn that being part of a strong community of learners and leaders is not done passively. In the classroom, on the field, in the dorms, and in the community at large, we reap rewards that are amplified by the connections and active efforts we put into them. As we head into Thanksgiving break, it’s a perfect time to reflect on these meaningful connections — and to thank all members of our community for helping make our collective Journey stronger.
I hope you and your family have a very enjoyable holiday and relaxing Thanksgiving break. We look forward to welcoming students back in December.
